Right now the aim is just to have a web presence. Like most half-decent things, this should evolve over time. In fact it already looks a lot different from the design I started it off with. The site started off hosting a few pictures in the gallery, my professional resume, updates n such about my research and other technical topics of interest. It has grown to include a forum, a blog, and a few videos. In time I expect it to host a podcast maybe. I think I'll keep adding stuff just to learn about them. This is more educational than anything else. Save for a dramatic change in personality and, of course technical expertise, this should have a simplistic feel and a elegant non-cluttered design. I'd love to hear suggestions about design from any of you webgurus out there.

G E N E R A L
Well, I am a Network Security Engineer, working in the Bay area. Love Sports, Beer, Bars and yes, anything to do with security.

This is not a matrimonial site, so don't expect stuff like "I'm a motivated determined soft spoken loving caring sensitive guy pimping myself right here right now". Firstly it's NOT true, secondly if you like reading that kinda stuff, I probably don't like you anyways. And who believes the bullshit people write about themselves anyways. Everyone is the fuckin best guy/gal in the universe rite, everyone is off the beaten path, everyone lives life kingsize, everyone loves to PAARRRTYYY. I look at other's profiles and smirk- won't give you the pleasure of doin that.

Looove Sports.. Anything related to Sports.. I am like a kid in a candyshop in the soports section of any store. Hugely respect sports players and those who have played sports at any level. I've played Basketball at a decent level for a while in JC and during undergrad days. I have enjoyed being the Sports Secretary of R.A.I.T during the academic year 2000-01 which was a whole lot of fun. Made good friends and great memories... I think winning the inter-engineering at V.J.T.I was a whole lot of fun.. VESIT, we kicked your ass, didn't we?! Will watch any sport on TV or better still at the stadium, both with beer in one hand. It used to be that I wouldn't watch golf, but with a couple of swings at the driving range that's changed too. I still won't do cycling though. Did enough of that as a kid in my chuddie-in-the-name-of-shorts. My biggest regret is that I'm not a any-good tennis player. Of course I can serve rockets once in 30 tries.

Am not really a big reader. Have read a few
Fountainhead, (by Ayn Rand), Shantaram, (by G.D.Roberts), Fight Club (Chuck Palahnuik), and any work by Bruce Schneier ( Secrets and Lies ) are the only ones that have kept my attention for long enough to finish them. I'd like to read a few autobiographies now.

I used to post occasionally at my blog page titled Alien Perspective. This site has a blog too.

Music taste is pretty varied. I do not have great taste I have to admit. Am tone-deaf and sing like a fuckin crow- loud and horrible. Most of the songs are dismissed before they have a chance. Very little patience. I listen to a fair bit of Eminem, Metallica( thanks to Sant and Vigster), GnR, and a lot of crass Punjabi HH remixes. I maintain that there isnt any better combination than alcohol & Bhangra, and beer & GnR/Metallica. Theres not much more to say about that.

I think I may have learnt to put videos up. This one is for all of the group: Dhiren on CNBC: Low. (Firefox/Opera only)
Update: False alarm! The videos don't open up right on Internet Explorer. Haven't figured out the bug yet, but will check it out over the weekend.

C R E D I T S

This is like the awards speech where you tell whom you owe a lot to. Just that I'm not getting no award and noone's listening. I have a whole load to be thankful for to my parents for giving me everything in terms of faith, love, support, material things. But hey, all parents do that. My thanks is for giving those things without the feeling that any giving and taking had been going on at all. Now thats the beauty of them. My sister for undeserved hero status she gives me, and giving me support by letting me support her.

If friendship is a treasure then I'm a wealthy man. Have rockstar friends all over. Sushant for being a brother more than a friend, encouraging me to be as obstinate as I am, and supporting me enough to pull it off. If I have done exactly as I wanted, then this guy is one of the big reasons. Big heart and kaale-but-dilwaale types. Rockstar dude..

Matthew Wright for taking me under his wings and guiding, coercing and tolerating me through to the Thesis. Academically brilliant and personally a class-act nerd with personality. Always indebted.
