While trying to research topics I've come across a few links that I think may be of use to others in this domain too. Below is a list of them, along with what you can expect from them. There are a lot more links to come, just need to find time to go through my bookmarks.

NETWORK SECURITY

iptables HOWTO: A brief introduction to the powerful filtering firewall built in the linux kernel.
Iptables Tutorial: A nice beginner/intermediate tutorial for someone who intends to use iptables firewall instead of the other commercial/open-source firewall products.

Buffer Overflow:  A commonly refered to, authoratative document called "Smashing the Stack for fun and profit".
Just in case the assembly leaves you a lill floundered, theres this nice tutorial.
Wikipedia has a good document here too.(Of course you'll have to find the one corresponding to the processor you're using).

WEP Hacking : There has been many sites dedicated to getting the hack done, but going through them is like separating the chaff from the wheat. They are incomplete in the sense that they do not tell you the tools you need, the platform. But I've been able to find some good ones. Will prepare a decent compilation in the next few days that I'll put online.

OSSEC-HIDS:(Open Source Host-based Intrusion Detection System): The project founded by Daniel Cid, has Ahmet Ozturk as developer on the team.
+ Installation intructions by RShadow on the Ubuntu forums here.
+ Manual at the ossec webite here.
+ I have a small introductory tutorial on it under the "Linux" section.

Mark Grennan's Firewall and Proxy Server HOWTO: Is geared towards installing and configuring a firewall on a dedicated system running Linux, not so much for firewalls on standalones, but has some useful information.

Ron Rivest's Crypto and Security page: R of RSA, need I say more!

Firestarter: A nice front-end for Linux iptables firewall. Documentation here. I have a small introductory tutorial on it under the "Linux" section.

ANONYMITY

Anonymity bibliography: List of all anonymity-related papers and publications sorted by date/topic/author.

Tor: Second generation Onion Routing - The Tor homepage on Electronic Frontier Foundation's(EFF) site.

LINUX
Ubuntu Forums: Excellent place for any help required on the ubuntu distribution as regards installation, configuration, troubleshooting.

CRYPTOGRAPHY
Cryptography FAQ: Some feelers for key topics n issues in cryptography. Nice introduction.

NEWS
Digg: A nice site to stay updated with tech news/gossip, but theres just too many wannabe-nerds in there to bother going into the discussions.
Slashdot: Same as above.
